Hawkshead can be reached by car either via Newby Bridge, Ambleside or over the Windermere Ferry. Once in the village park in the main car park and then walk into the village centre. You will pass the Sun Inn ( on your left) and then come to " Sumitrek" ( also on your left). Opposite Sumitrek are a set of black vehicle gates. Go through the gates, down the drive and then through a second gate and the entrance is then on your left.
